FIKKIA NEWS – 294 new FIKKIA Airlangga University students concluded the 2026 PKKMB series with a spirit of togetherness and creativity. On Friday (August 7, 2026), students from the Candhikala intake participated in organizational and academic training before showcasing their talents through a group performance on the 9th floor of the GKB. The PKKMB was attended by all students from the Acuculture, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Public Health study programs.
Actively Organize to Make an Impact
The event began with a presentation on "Becoming an Active Student with Impact through Student Organizations." The President of the FIKKIA Student Executive Board (BEM), Moh. Alqoniev Doelfif, delivered the presentation enthusiastically.
The student, known as Aldo, introduced various self-development platforms at FIKKIA. These include the Student Executive Board (BEM), the Student Legislative Body (BLM), the Semi-Autonomous Body (BSO), the Student Association (HIMA), and the Interest and Talent Community (KOMIKAT).
According to Aldo, student organizations provide a platform for broadening one's horizons and improving one's skills. They also help students build integrity and interpersonal skills.
"Students who only study without joining organizations often miss out on opportunities to practice leadership, conflict management, and relationship building," he stressed.
Academic Governance Must Be Understood
The next briefing was presented by the Head of Academic and Student Affairs at FIKKIA, Bintang Gumilang, M.Kes. He presented the topic "Capita Selecta Academic and Student Affairs." Bintang explained various academic governance procedures that new students need to understand. The material covered administrative registration, UKT payments, and filling out the Study Plan Card (KRS) each semester. He also explained the provisions for taking Semester Credit Units (SKS). The number of credits a student can take depends on their Semester Achievement Index (IPS).
Apart from academics, students are encouraged to develop soft skill through various activities. Impactful Campus Programs such as Community Learning (BBK), Student Creativity Program (PKM), competitions, and student exchanges are some of the options. Bintang also explained the implementation of Early Warning System (EWS) at FIKKIA. This system is used to monitor students' academic progress and administrative compliance.
"Studying has its limits, even though learning lasts until the end of life," he said.
On that occasion, Bintang also introduced the "Our Campus" app, which allows parents to monitor their students' academic progress through digital devices.
294 New Students Showcase Their Creativity
After Friday prayers, the PKKMB atmosphere transformed into a stage for creativity. The 294 new students were divided into 12 groups to showcase their best performances. Each group was given 10–15 minutes to showcase their creativity. This year, musical dramas dominated the freshmen's performances.
The participants combined acting and vocal skills in the performance. They also sang songs live (live,) in front of the FIKKIA academic community. Group 10 won the top prize in the event. The group presented the story "Roro Jonggrang" with a concept tailored to the lives of Generation Z.
The modified story blended lifestyles and language that resonated with the younger generation. The concept successfully entertained the audience.
The 2026 FIKKIA PKKMB series concluded with messages and impressions. The event continued with the singing of the Airlangga Hymn and a group photo session.
Through this series of PKKMB activities, the new students of the Candhikala class are expected to begin campus life with renewed enthusiasm. They are also expected to grow into high-achieving, ethical, active, and collaborative students.
