The visit was also part of the field lecture of the Food Safety and Nutritional Food Technology Course. There were 9 students from the nutrition interest who participated in the visit. They studied the food safety standards applied in the company. Starting from Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACPP), Quality Assurance, and Quality Control applied. In addition, students also learn the production process carried out and identify the food technology used in the company's operations.
Learn Food Safety

Accompanied by HRD PT. Istana Cipta Sembada Mr. Prima, the activity began with a brief presentation about general information about the company and food safety standards that have been implemented in the company. For food safety standards, the company has implemented ISO 22000, implemented the HACCP system, is HALAL certified, and BPOM. HACCP is a hazard prevention management system in the production process. ISO 22000 includes HACCP as a broader food safety system.
After that, students also went around the factory to see the production process directly. In the production process, freezing is done using three methods, namely IQF (Individual Quick Freezing), ABF (Air Blast Freezing), and CPR (Contact Plate Freezer). [1] Through freezing technology, the shelf life can be maintained for a long time, making it possible to export abroad. Shrimp and octopus products last long not because of the addition of preservatives, but the use of processing technology.
From the field visit, students can directly analyze the food safety standards and food processing technology in the company. In addition, it is also expected that there will be cooperation between PT. Istana Cipta Sembada and FIKKIA to improve the quality of students.
