FIKKIA NEWS – Starting the first week of March, FIKKIA UNAIR held a "Friday Coordination" event on Friday (06/03/2026) at R. Tutor 3, Mojo Campus. This meeting served as a forum for consolidation between student organizations (ORMAWA) and Student Activity Units (UKM) with the Deputy Dean I of FIKKIA, Ivan Rahmatullah, dr., MPH., Ph.D. as the advisor of BEM FIKKIA.
The student organizations present included: Garuda Sakti (GS), Aquaculture Student Association (HIMAKUA), Banyuwangi Public Health Association (BPHA), General Medical Student Association (HMKU), Veterinary Student Association (HMKH), KSR (Volunteer Corps), Conservation and Nature Lovers (KPA), Komalima, BEM, BLM, and Volunteer Student Activity Unit.
Transformation of Promotion Strategy and Going International
In his remarks, Ivan emphasized the need to reposition the faculty's promotion strategy. He emphasized that FIKKIA's promotion model has now transformed from a simple one to a more inclusive scheme.
"Our strategy has shifted to the FIKKIA Open House concept. We will invite schools to attend and experience the facilities and academic ecosystem of FIKKIA UNAIR here firsthand," he explained.
In addition, the faculty is currently planning an international competition. This ambitious program will involve a delegation of 15 student representatives from all student organizations (ORMAWA) and student associations (HIMA) within FIKKIA.
Accelerating Achievement Through Collaboration and Benchmarking
Dr. Ivan's top priority is to boost student achievement at the regional, national, and international levels. To achieve this goal, the faculty provides ample coordination and consultation opportunities for all organizations.
This consultation system is designed to align annual work programs (proker) to be more achievement-oriented. Through this forum, each organization is expected to be able to exchange experiences in program management, conducting benchmarking internally by emulating the success of other organizations' work programs and optimizing resources for scientific and non-scientific competitions.
Integration of Student Aspiration Collection
Closing the coordination session, the Student Executive Board (BEM)'s Advocacy and Student Welfare Ministry (Advokesma), represented by Mohammad Aulia Huwaiza Efendi (KESMAS 23), outlined updates to the aspiration collection system. This year, the aspiration system will be comprehensively synergized, from the Student Association (HIMA) level to the Student Leadership Council (BLM).
This integration step was taken to ensure that all student voices, complaints, and needs are systematically documented, so that the faculty can provide faster and more effective follow-up.
The synergy between the dean's policies and the progressive student movement is expected to be able to bring FIKKIA UNAIR to exceed its strategic targets throughout 2026.
