FIKKIA NEWS – The spirit of togetherness among Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) alumni was evident in the UNAIR Alumni Cycling Community (AUCC) cycling event in Banyuwangi on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Alumni from various regions participated in the activity, which combined sports, camaraderie, networking, and social action.
The event was presented by IKA UNAIR PC Banyuwangi and the UNAIR Alumni Cycling Community. This event marked AUCC's first visit to Banyuwangi and opened up a space for collaboration between alumni, the UNAIR Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Natural Sciences (FIKKIA), the Banyuwangi Regency Government, and Blambangan Regional Hospital.
The participants began their journey from the FIKKIA UNAIR Banyuwangi campus in the Mojopanggung area. They then traveled approximately 12 kilometers to the Sabha Swagata Blambangan Hall. Along the way, the group passed through several areas, including Pakis, Kalirejo, Sobo, Kertosari, the Hoo Tong Bio Karangrejo Temple, and Blambangan Park.

Alumni Gathering Room Across Regions
The cycling event brought together UNAIR alumni from various classes, faculties, professions, and regions. The presence of alumni from diverse backgrounds made the event more than just a sporting activity, but also a space for re-establishing communication and alumni networking.
Deputy Dean I of FIKKIA UNAIR, Dr. Ivan Rahmatullah, MPH., Ph.D., said that this activity was an opportunity to expand collaboration between various elements in Banyuwangi.
"This cycling event is AUCC's first event in Banyuwangi. We hope this event can foster collaboration between alumni, FIKKIA UNAIR, the Banyuwangi Regency Government, and Blambangan Regional Hospital to strengthen the alumni network," said Dr. Ivan.
According to Ivan, the involvement of various parties demonstrates that alumni activities can be a gateway to building broader collaborations. The network is expected to expand beyond social and sports activities, but also into education, health, and community service.
Meanwhile, the Management of PB IKA UNAIR and also the Advisor of AUCC, Agus Hendrawan Budi Sulistyo, SE., Ak., CA., explained that the cycling activity was part of the AUCC agenda to visit various regions, especially in East Java.
"This cycling event is not just about exercise, but also a means to revitalize alumni organization activities and expand the IKA UNAIR network in various regions," said Agus.
Before Banyuwangi, AUCC had held similar activities in several regions, including Solo and Semarang. The series of activities in Banyuwangi also began on Saturday (August 29, 2026) with a visit to Marina Boom Beach.
Cycling Continues with Social Action
The spirit of togetherness during the event didn't end after the participants crossed the finish line. The alumni also distributed food packages to local residents as a form of social responsibility. This initiative was part of an effort to provide direct benefits to the community during AUCC's visit to Banyuwangi.
After completing the cycling route, participants continued their recreational activities with a trip to Jagir Waterfall. The event concluded with a gathering at the Pendopo Sabha Swagata Blambangan.
In addition to community activities, the event also strengthened alumni ties with their alma mater through the symbolic inauguration of the IKA UNAIR FIKKIA Banyuwangi Branch. This forum is expected to further strengthen communication between FIKKIA alumni and the faculty and fellow alumni in Banyuwangi.
Through sports, social gatherings, and social activities, AUCC brings the spirit of UNAIR alumni closer to the Banyuwangi community. This activity also demonstrates that the alumni network can be a force for building collaboration and making real contributions in various regions.
