"Airlangga University's dedication in efforts to equalize higher education for the community is by opening a PDD Airlangga University in Banyuwangi."

The existence of Universitas Airlangga in Banyuwangi has been heard since 2014. UNAIR and the Banyuwangi Regency Government are committed to organizing quality higher education in the land of Blambangan. The name of the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Natural Sciences (FIKKIA) was chosen as an effort to realize the formation of scientific focus in the fields of health, medicine and natural sciences in a more established forum.
When it was first established in 2014, FIKKIA still held the name of the Study Program Outside the Domicile (PDD). The decision was based on the Letter of the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture Number: 276/E2/DT/2014. The goal is to expand access and quality of education in an effort to provide equal access to education to meet the needs of quality human resources in the Banyuwangi area.
The Chancellor of Airlangga University, Prof. Dr. H. Fasichul Lisan, Apt. and the Regent of Banyuwangi, Abdullah Azwar Anas, S.Pd., SS, M.Si. officially opened the PDD on October 19, 2014 in the yard of the Giri Campus.
In the 2014/2015 academic year, there are four undergraduate study programs, namely Accounting, Aquaculture, Veterinary Medicine, and Public Health. PDD UNAIR Banyuwangi is trying to graft academic culture in the Faculty of Economics and Business; Faculty of Fisheries and Marine; Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; and Faculty of Public Health to produce an atmosphere and quality that is equal to the Surabaya campus.
In mid-2017, the significant development of PDD into an Off-Campus Study Program (PSDKU) increased the study location to the Sobo campus. Lectures for Aquaculture and Veterinary Medicine students are held at the Giri Campus. Meanwhile, Accounting and Public Health students are held at the Sobo Campus. Lectures for the four existing study programs will continue until the end of 2021.
Based on the Decree of the Board of Trustees (MWA) of Airlangga University Number 6 of 2021, the name PSDKU was transformed into the School of Health and Natural Sciences (SIKIA). Precisely on December 29, 2021. All adjustments were made by Airlangga University with an entity in the form of a school. Therefore, there are slight changes in the implementation of study programs that focus on certain scientific fields. There are three study programs, namely Aquaculture, Veterinary Medicine, and Public Health. Meanwhile, the management of the Accounting Study Program was returned to the main campus of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University in Surabaya and was no longer opened in Banyuwangi.
Not long after, the name SIKIA metamorphosed into the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Natural Sciences (FIKKIA) in October 2023. Prof. Dr. Soetojo, Sp.U (K) was officially appointed as Dean of FIKKIA after previously serving as Director of SIKIA.
FIKKIA's metamorphosis has brought significant changes in the management and implementation of lectures at the Airlangga University campus in Banyuwangi. Currently, FIKKIA has added three new Study Programs, namely Medicine, Professional Education for Doctors (PPD), and Professional Education for Veterinarians (PPDH). Efforts to expand the network of cooperation continue to be made to improve the quality of the tri dharma of higher education.
